1.  Introduction

The competition aims to engage the Botswana public in the new year, providing an exciting opportunity to win valuable prizes, including a grand prize of an ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2! The competition also seeks to foster community spirit through weekly draws and social media engagement.

2.  Mechanics

2.1.  How to Enter:

  • Participants text the keyword “ISUZU” to a designated short code (17xxx).

  • The age verification process will then occur through a KYC system procedure, demonstrated in Section 3.

  • Eligible participants, persons aged 18 years and above, will receive a response message prompting them to proceed, while ineligible participants, persons under 18 years, will be disqualified from the competition and blocked from participating.

2.1. Unlimited Entries: Participants can enter multiple times, with each entry increasing their chances of winning.

The MNOs, equipped with comprehensive KYC systems, perform the necessary checks to determine the age eligibility of the customer. They utilize their own verification mechanisms to establish if the customer is above the age of 18.

 

Mobile Network Operator Verification Process

If the customer passes the verification process, a callback confirmation status is promptly issued, granting them access to the competition. Conversely, if the verification process determines that the customer is below the age requirement, a rejection message is sent, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory guidelines and preventing underage individuals from engaging in the competition.

 

4. Proposed Prizes

4.1.  Weekly Winners

The top 10 participants with the highest entries on that week will WIN one of the following prizes as follows;

4.2.1. ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2, awarded via a live event on June 7th, 2025.

4.3. Grand Prize Draws

4.3.1. Qualification: To be eligible for the draw, the top 4 participants with the highest number of entries will qualify.

4.3.2. Draw Process: A total of 4 keys will be placed in a bowl, with only one key being the key to the ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2.

4.3.3.  Draw Order Arrangement: All qualifiers will be given the opportunity to choose a number between 1 and 4. The chosen number will determine the order in which they will attempt to unlock the Car. The first person, blindfolded, will select one key and attempt to unlock the Car.

4.3.4. Winner Selection: The participant who successfully selects the right key and unlocks the Car will be declared the winner of the Grand Prize of ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2.

 

5.  Giveaway Locations

5.1.  Weekly Prizes

5.1.1. Conducted every Monday at 7.30pm at Avrio (Pty) Ltd Offices, Plot 10288 Maruapula, verified by an auditor, with winners notified telephonically and posted on social media.

5.2. Grand Prize

5.2.1. Grand Prize Draw Event: Hosted on June 7, 2025 at Gaborone Bus Rank, time at 5pm, with media coverage and a live broadcast. The winner of the ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2 will be announced live to ensure transparency.

5.2.2.  How Many Times Can One Play: Participants may enter as many times as they can afford to.

The competition will run for a duration of 3 months.

 

7.  Rules and Regulations

7.1.1.  Who Can Enter: Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers for all Mobile Network Operators in Botswana are eligible to participate.

7.1.2.  How to Participate: MNO subscribers are prompted to send a keyword “ISUZU” to a designated shortcode.

7.1.3.  Age: 18 years and above.

7.1.4.  Proposed SMS Cost: BWP 2.00 per SMS.

 

8. Terms And Conditions

8. 1. Definitions

Unless the context provides otherwise, the words and expressions set out below will have the following meanings and cognate expressions shall have corresponding meanings

8.1.1.  “Competiti” means the ““Win a brand new ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4 x 2!”, organized by Avrio Pty Ltd.

8.1.2.  “Competition Period” means start date May 1, 2025 at 00:00 hours and end date July 31, 2025 at 00:00 hours.

8.1.3.  “Participant” means a person who enters the competition.

8.1.4. “Promoter” means Avrio Pty Ltd.

8.1.5. “Prize” means: Toyota ISUZU V Cross 3.0 4x2.

8.2.  Application of Terms and Conditions

8.2.1. By choosing to enter the Competition, the participant agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions, which the participant acknowledges to have read and understood.

8.3. Entry Requirements

8.3.1. In order to be eligible for participation in this Competition an entrant must:

8.3.2. Be a Botswana citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18 (eighteen) years.

8.3.3. Be a BTC or Mascom or Orange post or prepaid subscriber.

8.3.4.  To enter the Competition, participants must:

8.3.6.  Provide the correct information requested.

8.3.7.  Participants should provide accurate Personal information to be eligible to win. Failure to do so shall render the participant ineligible from collecting his/her winnings.

8.3.8.  Personal information shall be requested from the participant before the winnings are awarded. Failure to provide said information shall render the participant ineligible from collecting his/her winnings.

8.4. Award Terms

8.4.1.   Weekly Cash Prize winner/s will be contacted within 24 hours by telephone and followed by an announcement on Facebook.

8.4.2.   After all the required Personal information is received, the winners shall either collect their prizes from our office at Plot 10288 in Maruapula, Gaborone, or the prizes couriered to them within 7 days.

8.4.3.   The Prize winner submits that all content shared with the Promoter may be used freely, without consultation on all platforms and may be amended in any way the Promoter sees fit without compensation. The Prize winner has at any time the right to decline the use of its content.

8.5. Use of Personal Information

8.5.1.   Personal information is information relating to a participant. Personal information includes a participant’s identity or passport number and contact details.

8.5.2. By entering this competition, a participant agrees that the Promoter may use his/her personal information in connection with the competition. Any personal information submitted by the participant will be used solely in accordance with current Botswana data protection legislation. 8.5.3.   As far as the law allows, each participant agrees and gives the Promoter permission to collect, get, receive, record, organise, collate, update, use and share all of his/her personal information for all purposes relating to the competition.

8.5.4. Each participant warrants that he/she has the authority to allow the Promoter to use his/her personal information for purposes of the competition. The Promoters will not use any participant’s personal information in any way which breaks the law and undertakes to keep all personal information of participants secure and for as long as the law requires.

8.5.5. By entry in this competition, all participants consent to having their data captured on the Promoters’ system. The participant agrees that any video or photographs taken of them in relation to this competition become the property of the Promoter to use in any marketing campaigns as the Promoter deems fit. The participant shall have no claim for any compensation for use of the media footage. However, the participant is at all times free to decline and not consent to such use.

8.6.   Warranties and Indemnities

8.6.1.   The Promoter, its employees, officers, directors, agents and associates, (the “Indemnified Parties’’) shall not be liable for and the participants hereby indemnify and hold the Indemnified Parties harmless from any claim, liability, cost, expense or penalty suffered or incurred by any person as a result of participating in the competition.

8.6.1.  All products given as part of the Prizes are subject to all applicable warranties, guarantees and instructions of use accompanying such products.

8.7.   Force Majeure

8.7.1.   In the event of any act of God, strike, war, warlike operation, rebellion, riot, civil commotion, lockout, combination of workmen, interference of trade unions, suspension of labour, fire, accident, of any circumstances arising or action taken beyond or outside the reasonable control of the Promoter preventing them from the performance of any obligation to a Participant (any such event hereinafter called "Force Majeure") the Promoter shall promptly notify and seek appropriate relief from the Gambling Authority.

8.7.2.   The Participant during the period that such Force Majeure continues and shall not be liable for any delay or failure in the performance of any obligations or loss or damage which the Participant may suffer due to or resulting from the Force Majeure.

8.8.   General

8.8.1.   The Promoter acknowledges that any amendments to these terms and conditions require the approval granted by the Gambling Authority, and such changes cannot be made solely at the Promoter's discretion.

8.8.2.   The Competition is not open to any director, member, partner, owner, employee, agent of, consultant to, or anyone associated with or affiliated to the Promoter.

8.8.3.   In the event of a dispute regarding any aspect of the Competition and/or these terms and conditions, the Promoter’s decision will be binding and final and no correspondence will be entered into.

8.8.4.   The Promoter shall not cancel, suspend, or terminate the service without the explicit consent of the Gambling Authority.

8.10.1.   Participants are responsible for any SMS charges or data fees incurred while entering the competition.

8.10.2.   Entry to the competition does not guarantee winning a prize; it is subject to the participant's skill and chance.

8.10.3.   SMS costs BWP 2.00

 8.11.   Prize Allocation

8.11.1.   Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-negotiable.

8.11.2.   In the event of multiple winners, prize amounts will be divided equally among the winners.

8.11.3.   All taxes, fees, and levies on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.

8.12.   Publicity and Promotion

8.12.1.   Participants and winners consent to their names and likeness being used by the Promoter for promotional purposes without any compensation.

8.12.2.   The Promoter retains the right to feature winners in promotional material, including but not limited to social media, press releases, and advertisements.

8.13.   Disputes

8.13.1.   Any disputes arising from the competition will be resolved according to the laws of the Republic of Botswana.

8.13.2.   Participants agree to abide by the Promoter's decisions on all matters related to the competition, including dispute resolution.

8.14.   Limitation of Liability

8.14.1.   The Promoter, its agents, affiliates, and sponsors will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or inconvenience suffered by participants during the competition.

8.14.2.   The Promoter shall not be responsible for any technical malfunctions, interruptions, or errors in the competition operation.

8.15.   Governing Law and Jurisdiction

8.15.1.   These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana.

8.15.2.   Any disputes arising from or related to the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Botswana courts.

8.16. Severability

8.16.1.   If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be in full force and effect.

8.17.   Language

8.17.1.   These terms and conditions are provided in the English language. In case of any discrepancy, the English version shall prevail.
